Employer Reporting of Workplace Injuries
On May 17, 2016, Alaska Governor Bill Walker signed legislation (S.B. 148) regarding the reporting of workplace injuries. The bill amends Alaska’s workplace safety law to bring it into compliance with federal OSHA regulations by requiring an employer to report an employee’s loss of an eye or amputation to the Division of Labor Standards and Safety.
The law went into effect upon signing.
