Colorado Employment Law Update – April 2017
Wage Theft Transparency Act
On April 13, 2017, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper signed legislation (H.B. 1021) addressing the release of information by the Colorado Division of Labor Standards and Statistics (division) in regard to an employer’s violation of wage laws. The new law provides that an employer may designate information submitted to the division as proprietary, a trade secret, or privileged information as long as the director is not bound by the employer’s designation.
The law became effective upon signing.
