Florida Voters Approve Medical Marijuana
On November 8, 2016, Florida voters approved the Florida Medical Marijuana Initiative (Proposed Amendment 2). The initiative amends the Florida Constitution to allow the medical use of marijuana by individuals with debilitating medical conditions as determined by a licensed Florida physician.
With regards to employment, the law provides that employers are not required to accommodate any “on-site” use of medical marijuana in any place of employment.
The law goes into effect on January 3, 2017.
