From the Hotline: Ensuring Privacy of Sensitive Documents

Question: When transmitting background check forms and other private documents between offices, how do we protect information when scanning and emailing?

Answer: One recommendation is to consider use of a private facsimile or e-fax address to transmit personally identifiable or sensitive information that is then retained as confidential. If you must continue to utilize email to scan and forward confidential documents that may risk privacy protection, consider encryption software that locks down email from access by others without a protection code.
