Mandated Health Benefits – Sexually Transmitted Disease Screenings
On July 6, 2016, Hawaii Governor David Ige signed legislation (H.B. 1897) requiring health benefits plans to provide coverage for sexually transmitted disease screenings, including screenings for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
The bill applies to health insurance policies, contracts, and plans issued or renewed after January 1, 2018.
