Military Leave – Activation of State Employees

On April 5, 2017, Governor Eric Holcomb signed legislation (H.B. 1324) relating to the activation of state employees and military leave. Under the law, a state employee who is a member of the Indiana National Guard is entitled to a leave of absence without loss of time while on active duty, and compensation in an amount that is equal to the difference between the member’s active duty military pay and the salary the member would have received if the member was not called to active duty.

The law is effective July 1, 2017.
