Jackson Ordinance Prohibiting Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Discrimination Enforcement Delay

On February 8, 2017, the Jackson City Council approved an ordinance (No. 2017-03) that prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing, and public accommodations. The ordinance applies to employers in the city employing one or more persons.

The ordinance was scheduled to go into effect on March 10, 2017; however, enforcement has been delayed until further notice from the council.
