Missouri Passes Right-to-Work Law
On February 6, 2017, Missouri Governor Eric Greitens signed legislation (S.B. 19) making Missouri the 28th state to enact right-to-work legislation. Pursuant to the law, no person may be required as a condition of employment or continued employment to become a member of a union or to pay any dues or other fees to a union.
The law goes into effect on August 28, 2017 but does not apply to any agreement between an employer and a labor organization entered into prior to the effective date.
