Pregnant Workers’ Fairness Act Notice Released

The Nevada Equal Rights Commission issued an official notice for the Nevada Pregnant Workers’ Fairness Act. Under the act, employers with at least 15 employees must:

  • Post the notice in the workplace in a conspicuous area that is accessible to employees.
  • Provide the notice to all new employees at the start of employment.
  • Provide the notice within 10 days to any employee who informs her immediate supervisor that she is pregnant.

The act is effective October 1, 2017; however, the posting requirement took effect upon the signing of the act (June 2, 2017). Therefore, covered employers must post this notice immediately.
