2019 Meal and Lodging Deduction Increase

In October 2018, the Vermont Department of Labor released an updated poster announcing that the permitted meals and lodging deductions an employer may withhold from an employee’s wages increase as follows:

  • Breakfast, $3.17 daily.
  • Lunch, $3.56 daily.
  • Dinner, $3.95 daily.
  • Full board, $10.68 daily or $74.76 per week.
  • Nightly lodging, $4.36 daily.
  • Full room, $26.20 weekly.
  • Full room and board, $90.49 weekly.

These rates are effective January 1, 2019.

2019 Minimum Wage Increase

In October 2018, the Vermont Department of Labor released an updated minimum wage poster announcing that the state’s minimum wage will increase to $10.78 per hour and the maximum tip credit will increase to $5.39 per hour.
