Minors Employed as Lifeguards

On March 28, 2018, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker signed legislation (A.B. 326) permitting the employment of a minor age 15 and over as a lifeguard so long as an adult employee is present on the premises whenever the minor is working, and the minor successfully completed a bona fide life-saving course.

The law became effective March 30, 2018.

Unemployment Insurance and Criminal Penalties for Fraud

On March 28, 2018, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker signed legislation (A.B. 710) revising and increasing the criminal penalties for any person who knowingly makes a false statement or representation in order to obtain unemployment insurance benefits.

The law became effective March 30, 2018.
