Workers’ Compensation and Work Search Requirements

On May 8, 2017, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed legislation (S.B. 1332) providing for the use of information by certain agencies to prevent, investigate, and prosecute workers’ compensation fraud. The law also covers the settlement of certain workers’ compensation claims, and provides that compensation for medical, surgical, and hospital benefits includes reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses if the employee must travel more than 25 miles from his or her place of residence to obtain medical care for the injury.

The law is effective October 31, 2017.
